Day 1: Airport pick up – Almaty

Upon your arrival at Almaty International Airport (ALA), you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in the vibrant city center. Enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant, offering your first taste of Kazakh cuisine and hospitality.

Day 2: Exploring Esik lake and Kok-Tobe Hill

After breakfast, head to the serene Esik (Issyk) Lake, nestled in a scenic mountain valley. Enjoy a peaceful stroll along its shores, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. In the late afternoon, return to Almaty to visit Kok-Tobe Hill for panoramic sunset views over the city. Visit the famous Apple Monument and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere before returning to your hotel.

Day 3: Shymbulak Ski Resort - Green Bazaar

Today, we will explore the Shymbulak Ski Resort, a year-round mountain destination. Take a scenic cable car ride for stunning views of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains. Relax and soak in the majestic scenery. In the afternoon, return to the city for cultural immersion. Stop by the famous Rakhat Chocolate Shop for delicious souvenirs, then explore the vibrant Green Bazaar, a sensory journey through local spices, dried fruits, and crafts.

Day 4: Almaty - Charyn Canyon - Kolsay Lake

After breakfast, depart from Almaty for a scenic drive (approx. 3 hours) to Charyn Canyon. Explore the iconic "Valley of Castles" section, where wind-sculpted red sandstone formations create a mesmerizing landscape. 

In the afternoon, continue your journey into the Tian Shan Mountains to the pristine Kolsay Lakes National Park. Visit the Kolsay Lake, where the turquoise waters reflect the surrounding spruce forests. Here, you can enjoy a serene boating experience on the lake, gliding across its crystal-clear surface. In the evening, check into your hotel, your comfortable retreat near the lake. Dinner and overnight surrounded by mountain serenity.

Day 5: Saty village - Kaindy Lake - Talgar Village

In the morning, embark on an adventure to Kaindy Lake. Transfer to a Russian military car to traverse the final, rugged track. From the drop-off point, enjoy a moderate hike (approx. 1 hour) through a pine forest to the lake's stunning shore, famous for the surreal sight of its submerged spruce tree trunks. In the afternoon, after exploring, begin your return journey towards Almaty, heading to the picturesque foothills of the Talgar region. In the evening, arrive at the exclusive Gunny Aul Luxury Yurt Camp. Experience the perfect blend of traditional nomadic architecture and modern comfort. Dinner and a unique overnight stay in a luxury yurt under the stars.

Day 6: Talgar village - Nomad Show - Almaty

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the peaceful mountain air. Then experience a nomadic life show. You will learn about how nomadic people lived and enjoy a demonstration of traditional horse games performed by local youth. You’ll have the opportunity to cook baursak (local bread) with local aunties and taste them while they’re still hot. Enjoy a traditional lunch. In the afternoon, say bye to Gunny Village and transfer back to Almaty (approx. 1-hour drive). Check into your city hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to relax or explore independently.

Day 7: Almaty city tour - Airport drop off

After breakfast, discover the cultural heart of Almaty on a city tour. Visit the iconic wooden Zenkov Cathedral in Panfilov Park and the impressive Almaty Central Mosque.

Depending on your flight schedule, you may enjoy a farewell lunch before being transferred to Almaty International Airport for your departure, concluding your  Kazakh journey.
